Candidate Biography
Personal Statement |
- I was elected to the Supreme Court in 1994, and several of my significant opinions have been published in the Miscellaneous Reports. In October 2000, the New York State Trial Lawyers presented me with the Felix J. Aulisi Award in recognition of enduring respect for the rights of litigants and attorneys who appear before me and the fair administration of justice. In addition to my Supreme Court assignments, currently I am the Administrative Judge for the Fourth Judicial District. I belong to the New York State Bar Association, Judicial Section, the New York State Supreme Court Justices Association, the Schenectady County Bar Association and the National Italian American Bar Association. Proudly, I am the first recipient of the Pro Bono Distinguished Service Award from the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York and continue to be very active in my community. In 2008, I was honored for outstanding service to the community by the Bar Association in Schenectady. As a Supreme Court Justice, I am proud to be a public servant and if re-elected, will continue that service with dedication and concern.
