Candidate Biography
Personal Statement |
- Being on the bench as a Judge for 22 years, I have presided in both the criminal and civil courts.
I am a prolific writer. My scholarship can also be seen in my teaching duties as a law professor at two law schools. I frequently lecture to judges and attorneys.
The circumstances dictate the proper judicial temperament that needs to be displayed. The proper temperament should be reflective, deliberate and decisive under all circumstances.
I successfully directed a not-for-profit agency, Highbridge Family Services (day care centers), that has a $14 - $18 million annual budget. I freely give back in abundance to the community by being involved in many other volunteer activities such as being on the Board of Directors of the East Side House Settlement and Adolescent and Family Comprehensive Services, Inc.
My extraordinary common sense and industry have been a blessing.
Being a family man, living most of my life in the Bronx and drawing from my extensive experiences in law and life will continue to hold me in good stead as a jurist.
In conclusion, if re-elected, I will continue to faithfully discharge my duties on behalf of the judiciary and people of the State of New York.
