Candidate Biography
Personal Statement |
- My experience makes me well suited to be Family Court Judge. For the past 20 years I have been the Principal Court Attorney for the retiring Senior Family Court Judge, Damian J. Amodeo. In that capacity I have played some part in the 40,000 cases that came before the Court and drafted over 1,000 decisions. In addition to my duties as Court Attorney, I serve on many committees which address issues involving families and children including: Legislative Advisory Committee on Domestic Violence; Advisory Committee for the Supervised Visitation Program; Universal Response to Domestic Violence Steering Committee; Family Court Advisory Council; and the Planning Committee for the Integrated Domestic Violence Court. I am the principal author of the Dutchess County Domestic Violence Bench Manual, which has become a model statewide. I have received many awards for my work in the community. The Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission rated me “Qualified” and the Mid-Hudson Women’s Bar Association and the Dutchess County Bar Association rated me “Well Qualified”, the highest rating from each of these organizations. I am married and the mother of two grown children.
