Candidate Biography
Personal Statement |
- After almost 30 years in private practice, I can bring to the judiciary diverse professional and personal experience, independence and sensitivity to all those who appear in court seeking justice. Professionally, I have tried cases in every level of the trial court system, both federal and state, and therefore I have a working knowledge of court procedure and the rules of evidence. Since I have never been an institutional attorney (County Attorney, Law Secretary, District Attorney), lawyers on both side of a case will be treated fairly. In addition, I have had extensive community involvement, serving for more than 25 years on the Board of Directors of the Pederson Krag Center in Huntington, working to raise money for the Suffolk County Chapter of United Cerebral Palsy for the past 3 years, the Ridotto Arts Organization in Huntington, the Northport Little League and the Eatons Neck Basketball League, and the Northport Community Band. I am an avid reader as well. All of these experiences enable me to bring scholarship and analytical skills necessary to be an effective and impartial judge.
