Personal Statement |
- Judge Tricia M. Ferrell currently presides over arraignments, pretrial conferences, calendar calls, hearings and jury and non-jury trials at the Nassau County District Court. She was appointed in March of 2008 by County Executive Suozzi. Prior to her appointment, Judge Ferrell worked for Nassau County as its Director of Compliance where she managed and implemented the countywide internal controls program. Most of her professional career was spent prosecuting cases for the Nassau County District Attorney's Office as an Assistant District Attorney. She litigated felony and misdemeanor cases and represented the county in all phases of criminal proseuction. She also resented the Incorporated Village of Hempstead in all phases of criminal prosecution and civil matters. Judge Ferrell is a member of the District Court Judges Association, the Nassau County Bar Association, the Nassau County Women's Bar Association, the Former Assistant District Attorneys Association and AMISTAD. She has been endorsed by the Nassau County Sheriff Officers Association, the Police Benevolent Association and the Nassau Women's Democratic Caucus.
