Candidate Biography
Personal Statement |
- I will be the kind of judge this community deserves. I am fair, hard-working, and treat people with respect. My experience --- as a prosecutor, as a defense lawyer, and as a civil litigator --- has given me a broad range of legal skills.
Few people want to b in court. When they must come to court, it is usually because they have tried everything else and nothing worked. People want the process to move quickly, easily, and fairly. Allowing disputes to go on and on does nothing to help either side.
While I think that we have become an overly litigious society, and that there are too many frivolous lawsuites, there are times when people require the assistance of the legal system to resolve disputes. When they do, I think the system should work quickly, and people should leave the experience saying that the the judge didn't drag his or her feet, and that he or she wasn't condescending or ill-tempered.
If I am fortunate enough to be elected to Supreme Court on November 4th, I will continue treating people the way I always have --- with dignity, understanding, and respect.
