Personal Statement |
- I am honored to have been elected Judge of the Civil Court of New York for Queens County in 11/01, and appointed Supervising Judge of the Civil Court, Queens County and designated Acting Supreme Court Justice by the Chief Administrative Judge in 3/07. During my tenure, I have published dozens of opinions, lectured in continuing legal education courses for the Queens County Bar and Queens Women’s Bar Associations (QWBA) and the Jag Officers of the New York Guard, as well as training programs for judges, and authored an article, “Non Military Affidavits: Providing Civil Relief at Home” exploring legal precedent to protect litigants who are in the military. Currently, in addition to my supervisory duties, I preside over summary jury trials of the Civil Term of Supreme Court. I am Chairwoman of the Brandeis Association, recording sec’y of the QWBA and board member New York region of Nat’l Assn. of Women Judges. The 2007 Independent Judicial Election Qualifications Commission found me “Qualified” to serve as a Supreme Court Justice. My life has been dedicated to public service and I respectfully ask for your support as I seek election as a Supreme Court Justice.
