REPORTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TRIAL TERMCOMMENCING....March 3, 2014

1).... Since there is no further jury trial activity for this week, the jurors serving the March 3, 2014 term are dismissed. Jurors with ID#’s 464 - 500 are to call the Commissioner of Jurors (285-8900) tomorrow between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, or send us email to verify your participation in our call-in system by giving your name and your juror ID#.
After contacting our office by telephone or email, you will be credited with good service and ineligible for future service for a (6) year period.
Commissioner Diamond and his staff thank all jurors for your participation, cooperation, and contribution to our system of justice.
NOTE : All jurors reporting for service are required to pass through security checkpoints, please note items such as pocket knives and knitting needles are not allowed in the court facilities.

Commissioner of Jurors
All trial jurors are on “standby” and report for service only when instructed by means of a recorded message. Each trial juror is instructed to call the Commissioner of Jurors office 518-285-8900 the Saturday or Sunday before their term begins, and after 5:00 p.m. every evening thereafter for the entire term. A recorded message will inform you by juror ID # if you need to report, where and at what time. Daily reporting instructions can also be found on our website at: www.nyjuror.gov.
Jurors are encouraged to use the CDTA bus transportation lines as there are minimal parking facilities in downtown Albany. For further information, please call CDTA at 482-8822 or visit www.cdta.org
The Crowne Plaza Parking Garage, located on the corner of Pine and Lodge Street, offers discounted juror parking at a daily rate of $6.00. Upon entering the garage, you will receive a ticket. Please bring this ticket for validation when reporting for service.
On-street parking is metered which is 12 minutes for 25 cents, with a maximum of two or four hours; expired meters will be ticketed. On-street parking is not recommended.
There is no reimbursement for transportation fares, parking lot fees or parking tickets.
If an emergency prevents you from reporting, please call our office at 518-285-8900 after 8:30 a.m. on the day you are to report.
The usual reporting time for jury duty is 8:30 a.m. Dismissal times vary according to court activity. Occasionally, you may be required to stay past 5:00 p.m.
The Albany County Sheriff’s Dept. is located in both the County Courthouse (Basement) and the Judicial Center (1st floor). The Sheriff's deputies are present and available in each building.
The County Courthouse and the Judicial Center entrances are located on Lodge Street. The doors open to the public at 8:00 am. At both locations, you are required to pass through a magnetometer. Please allow sufficient time for this process. Weapons and other dangerous instruments are prohibited in court buildings. Your cooperation is appreciated in this effort to keep our facilities safe.
Wireless internet is available in the Albany County Judicial Center-1st floor, Jury Assemblyroom
There are lunch facilities in the County Courthouse. Cafe hours are 8:00am to 3:00pm. There are no lunch facilities in the Judicial Center; however, vending machines are available in both buildings. Food and beverages are not allowed in the courtrooms.
Verification of Attendance:
If an employer requires proof of service, attendance vouchers are available in the Commissioner of Jurors office (Judicial Center, 1st floor-room 107) and the Court Clerk's office (County Courthouse, 1st floor-room 128). These vouchers are completed and signed by Court staff upon the jurors’ dismissal.
