Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • I have served as a judge for 11 years, as District Court and Acting County Court Judge, handling thousands of criminal and civil trials and dispositions. I am currently Presiding Judge of the Suffolk Drug Treatment Court, established as an alternative to incarceration for persons approved by the DA's Office. The NYS Chief Judge has appointed me to the NYS Family Violence Task Force which updates all judges on important issues including domestic violence, sexual assault and concerns of the elderly. I have lectured to the Suffolk Bar Ass'n , the Suffolk DA's Office and the Suffolk Police on Megan's Law, the Sex Offender Registration Act. I was chosen "Judge of the Year" by the Suffolk Columbian Lawyers Ass'n and was named a "Woman of Distinction" by the NYS Senate. My colleagues elected me to serve as President of the Suffolk Women's Bar Ass'n, the Confederation of Columbian Lawyer Ass'ns and the Suffolk District Court Judges Ass'n. A resident of Suffolk for more than 38 years, I have a vested interest in LI where I raised my family and am active in the Sons of Italy - Casamento Lodge.
