Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • My name is Kim Seager. My husband, Mitch, and I live in Volney. Mitch is a life member of the Phoenix Fire Department and works for Oswego County “911". We have been married for 23 years. Since 1997, I have represented the citizens of Schroeppel, Volney and Phoenix as a County Legislator. While working for Probation, I was involved with both family and criminal courts, as well as the social agencies. As a Law Guardian, I advise and counsel children and protect their rights. As a private attorney I represent parents and grandparents in family court in both Onondaga & Oswego Counties. A Family Court Judge must address matters promptly, fairly and with obvious compassion. At the heart of the traits of a Family Court Judge must be an understanding of the dynamics of all parts of system. My life experiences have taught me how to effectively deal with people and have made me a strong listener. I believe that I have the experience and qualifications to bring a positive approach to Family Court. Our Family Court should be a place where Oswego County families can resolve their challenges with dignity and respect and where there is a healthy environment for children and their families.
