Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • During my first 22 years in law, I participated in more than 3800 Family Court cases for private and public clients. I am familiar with, and experienced in, every facet of family law. As judge, I have presided in more than 24,000 cases in Family and Supreme Courts, including more than 1800 trials. I work to ensure that each litigant and attorney receive due process and fair, consistent treatment in applying case law and statutes to their specific disputes. Many litigants represent themselves. It is essential they know they have been heard and their concerns weighed. I remember this obligation for each case. I respect this great privilege of judicial service. I was honorably discharged from my military service in 1976. I am on the faculty of the National Judicial College and train town and village judges. I regularly attend legal seminars and courses. Family Court is challenging and rewarding. Children connect litigants long after their petitions are decided. A judge must be aware of each family's need for solutions that will promote safety and healthy behaviors. I am proud of this court and my ability to find such answers and protect our families and children.
