Personal Statement
  • Paul Wojtaszek has practiced law for two decades. Before earning his law degree, Paul interned at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division in Washington. After graduating from University at Buffalo Law School, Paul took on the challenge of serving as assistant district attorney in Niagara County, heading the Narcotics Bureau and prosecuting welfare fraud, drug trafficking and homicide. Paul then served Attorney General Dennis Vacco as Special Assistant Attorney General prosecuting Medicaid fraud. After seven years prosecuting criminals, Paul turned to learning what it takes to be a judge, serving as law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Russell Buscaglia—a post he’s held for 13 years. Paul was honored with the Robert J. Connelly Trial Technique Award, the Advocates Club of WNY Distinguished Leadership Award, and North Tonawanda Catholic School’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. Active in his community, Paul is a Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church and a Den Leader for his son’s Cub Scout pack. He and his wife, Colleen, have four children, Justin, Luke, Ava and Peyton. Paul is rated “Well Qualified” by the Bar Association of Niagara County.
