Personal Statement
  • Before beginning his legal career Justice Parga was a bilingual caseworker for the Nassau County Department of Social Services where he assisted Spanish speaking clients trying to access the County’s programs to provide food, clothing, housing, employment and medical services for persons and families in need. Justice Parga has served with distinction as an attorney in Nassau County. He served as a Deputy Town Attorney for the Town of Oyster Bay and then as a Principal Court Attorney in the Nassau County District Court. He also served as law secretary to three State Supreme Court Justices as well as a Nassau County Court Judge. In 1992 Justice Parga was elected to the Nassau County District Court and then in 1997 he was elected to the New York State Supreme Court. Long active in his profession and community Justice Parga serves as a Special Professor of Law at Hofstra Law School. He is a member of the Nassau County and New York State Bar Associations as well as the Columbian Lawyers of Nassau County, and the Nassau Lawyers Association. Justice Parga is a Director on the Board of Directors of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County.
