Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • This County Court hears Family, Criminal, Civil and Surrogate matters. Since 1979, I have practiced law extensively in those areas. I have also been the Hudson City Court Judge since 2009. My experience makes me a unique candidate. I am the only candidate to receive a “Qualified” rating from the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Committee. Columbia County Court needs a judge who is sensitive and caring for family issues, is firm and forthright for criminal matters, and understands estate and civil practice. Most importantly, it requires a fair person who will respect all who come before the Court. I am that person. My volunteer community service has provided an understanding of the issues facing Columbia County-an understanding that I can and will bring to the bench. When Columbia County Court convenes in 2012, the judge must be ready and able to immediately take the bench, make decisions, and move the Court’s calendar. Columbia County’s citizens deserve a knowledgeable, fair and experienced judge to make important decisions. I would be honored to serve as Columbia County Court Judge, delivering the fair and impartial justice deserved by Columbia County’s citizens.
