Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • My professional and personal experience makes me uniquely qualified to hear the cases that come before the Rockland County Family Court. The Rockland County Bar Association Screening Committee has found me qualified to serve. I am an adoptee and an adoptive parent as well as an active family law practitioner with over 20 years experience litigating and mediating complex family disputes. I was a Professor of Law at New York Law School for more than fifteen years, a judicial law clerk for a United States District Court Judge and a small claims court arbitrator. I have successfully argued many cutting edge family law cases. I am uncompromising in my belief that our children should never be left unprotected by our courts and other societal institutions. I have used my voice and energies, as a pro bono attorney representing victims of domestic violence and a volunteer leader of family service agencies and educational institutions and now I humbly ask for you for your votes on November 8 to allow me to combine my passion for and experience in and with the law, public service, children and families to serve our community and to work to transform the Rockland Family Court.
