Personal Statement
  • Judge Bennett was found “well qualified” to serve as a Supreme Court Justice by the Nassau County Bar association & is endorsed by The Court Officers Benevolent Association of Nassau County. Judge Bennett has been a distinguished member of the Family Court bench since she was elected in November, 2006. For the past five years, Judge Bennett has presided over cases in the areas of custody, visitation, family offenses, & guardianship. She has earned a stellar reputation for her judicial temperament, fair approach & intellect. She was appointed by the NYS Administrative Judge to serve on the Family Court Advisory & Rules Committee. She was appointed by the County Executive to serve on the Nassau County Domestic Violence Task Force. She is a member of the NYS Family Court Judges Assoc., the National Council of Juvenile & Family Court Judges, the Family Court Children’s Center Advisory Committee, the Nassau County Bar Assoc. & the Woman’s Bar Assoc. Since 2009, Judge Bennett volunteers as a lecturer for the Parent Education & Custody Effectiveness (PEACE) Program at the Supreme Court. She has been a lifelong resident of Nassau County where she resides with her husband & two children.
