Personal Statement
  • Judge Breslin has nearly 40 years of experience in criminal, family and civil cases. He has more than 20 years of experience in Supreme, County and Family Courts. He was determined “well-qualified” by the Albany County Bar Association Judicial Qualifications Committee. He was a private attorney, trial attorney with the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, corporation counsel to the city of Watervliet and Albany County public defender. Judge Breslin is past president of the NYS County Judges Association. In 1999, he was appointed supervising judge of all criminal courts in the 3rd judicial district. He is a graduate of University of Toledo Law School, Boston College and Vincentian Institute. He was chairman of the Pine Hills Youth Center, member of the Albany Tri-centennial Commission and citizen’s budget advisory committee of the Albany City School District. He received the Harold E. Koreman Award from the NYS Trial Association, the Distinguished Public Service Award from the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy and the Hope House Circle of Hope Award. Judge Breslin and his wife Judy live in Albany. They have two sons and a granddaughter.
