Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • A 1976 graduate of Massena HS, I obtained a B.A. magna cum laude from LeMoyne College, 1980; and J.D. from Washington & Lee, 1983. I was admitted to practice in NYS in 1985. In private practice my concentration was family law and representation of children. In 1989, I began work in the NYS UCS OCA as Court Attorney to Judge David Nelson in Family Court. I continue to work for UCS, primarily in Family Court. A member of the NYS Bar Association, I currently serve as President of the SLC Bar Association. I am a past board member/officer for OBPA; past board member for Hospice; and currently serve on SUNY Canton’s College Council, and Legal Studies Advisory Board. In Family Court, I am focused on the Court’s obligation to protect children; look out for their best interests; protect victims of domestic violence; and to work toward better outcomes for children and families. I have the Democrat, Independence, and Conservative Party ballot lines. To date, I am endorsed by: I.B.E.W. Local 2032; Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Co. Central Trades and Labor Council, AFL-CIO; U.A.W. NYS Region 9 CAP Council; and, U.S.W Local 450. The IJEQC rates me qualified.
