Personal Statement
  • I was elected to the District Court bench in 2002 and sworn in as District Court Judge in January 2003. For the first year and a half I worked in District Court trial Part. In 2005 through 2006 I worked arraignments. In 2006 I was appointed Acting County Court Judge sitting in the Pre-indictment Felony Part. In 2008 I was honored with being chosen Judge of the Year by the Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association. In 2010 I was selected to be the first presiding judge of the newly formed Veteran's Court based on my judicial and military background. It is the high light of my judicial career. I reside in Saint James with my wife of forty years. I have three grown children of whom I am very proud. I have been a volunteer firefighter in the St. James Fire Department for over 30 years. I have been active in the community over the years. I feel it was a distinct honor to serve my country as a soldier in Vietnam, my community as a volunteer fireman, and the Town of Smithtown as a District Court Judge. it would be a privilege to serve the people of Suffolk County as a County Court Judge.
