Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • With over 27 years of Judicial Experience, I believe that I am well qualified to continue serving as a Supreme Court Justice. After serving 11 ½ years as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County, I began my judicial career in 1985 as a Yonkers City Court Judge. In 1988, I was elected to the Westchester County Court where I served until my election to the NYS Supreme Court in 1998. In 2009, I was appointed Associate Justice of the Appellate Term, 2nd Department. During my tenure on the bench, I have had numerous decisions published in the New York Law Journal and the Misc. Reports. For the last three years, Justice Tom Dickerson and I have authored and published in the NY Law Journal and/or Westchester Bar Journal Annual Surveys of New York Tax Certiorari, Tax Exemption, and Eminent Domain cases. From 1970-1975, I served in the United States Army Reserves. Since 1998, I have been assigned as Staff Judge Advocate and hold the rank of Lt. Colonel the New York Guard. In that capacity, I have assisted US Marines and Air Force personnel deploying overseas. I am also a current and former member of many professional and civic organizations.
