Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • I believe that my qualifications for this position can be measured by the even temperament, sense of fairness and commitment to public service demonstrated during my twenty-one years as a practicing attorney and then as City Court Judge for the City of Saratoga Springs. The highlights of my career in public service are as follows: Assistant District Attorney, Suffolk County (1987 - 1989); Deputy Counsel, NY State Board of Elections (1993 - 1999); City Attorney, Saratoga Springs (2000 to 2004). While in private practice (1989 – 1993 and 2000 – 2008) I handled complex litigation matters in State and Federal Courts and prepared and argued numerous appeals. I was elected Saratoga Springs City Court Judge in 2008, and then in 2010 was appointed as Acting County Court Judge and Supervising Judge for the Town and Village Justice Courts in four counties. On a personal note, my wife and I have been married for 28 years and raised three daughters together. I look forward to the opportunity to use my insight into human nature, my passion for the law, and my dedication to judicial integrity to make a positive difference in the lives of people who may appear before me in Supreme Court.
