Personal Statement
  • Judge Zimmerman is an Acting Supreme Court Justice and the Supervising Judge of the Matrimonial Parts in Nassau County and a former Supervising Judge of the Family Court in Nassau County. Judge Zimmerman serves on the Permanent Judicial Commission on Justice for Children, the Matrimonial Practice Advisory Committee, the Advisory Panel for Attorneys for Children in Nassau County and the Nassau County Executive’s Task Force on Family Violence. She is a member of the Judiciary’s Women in the Courts Committee and a former President of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association. Judge Zimmerman has been an adjunct professor of law at Hofstra Law School and a frequent lecturer in matrimonial and family law. She is a founding member of the first Mothers’ Center on Long Island and sits on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Mother’s Centers (NAMC). Judge Zimmerman was given the highest rating by the Nassau County Bar Association and endorsed by the Court Officers Benevolent Association of Nassau County (COBANC).
