Personal Statement
  • I have been a Judge for 14 years, a total of 26 in the legal profession. I currently am Supervising Judge for the 7th Judicial District Family Courts and an Acting Supreme Court Justice. I am proud to have received the highest ratings from all bar associations: “Highly Qualified” by the Monroe County Bar Association,“Highly Qualified” and “Commended” by GRAWA, “Highly Qualified” by the Independent Judicial Qualifications Committee and “Highly Qualified” and “With High Sensitivity” by the Black Bar Association. I currently handle cases of child sexual/physical abuse, neglect, domestic violence, custody/visitation, adoptions, child support, JD and PINS. As Acting Supreme Court Justice, I have presided over criminal and civil cases, Integrated Domestic Violence Court. I have been an Acting Surrogate Court Judge. When in private practice, I handled civil litigation in State and Federal Courts. I have been a CLE instructor for the NYSBA, Dean of the MCBA’s Academy of Law, board member for the former Main West Attorneys at Law, Inc. which provided legal services to the working poor, and on the Board of Directors for GRAWA where I was honored with the Hanna S. Cohn Mentoring Award.
