Personal Statement
  • Lisa A. Sokoloff has practiced law since 1984 in a variety of areas including personal injury, commercial, matrimonial and family, criminal, landlord and tenant, and insurance. She has been named a Super Lawyer for the years 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012. For over ten years, she volunteered as a Special Master in the New York Civil and Supreme Courts conferencing discovery disputes, resolving motions and settling cases. Lisa has lectured on subtantive issues of law and practice techniques for the Women's Bar, the State Bar, the City Bar, New York State Trial Lawyers and the City NITA program. Twice, she has lectured to the Civil Court Judges. Ms. Sokoloff is a past president of the New York Women's Bar Association and the Jewish Lawyer's Guild, and a current vice president of Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert. She is endorsed by Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, State Senator Tom Duane, Assembly Members Linda B. Rosenthal and Richard Gottfried, and Council Members Gale A. Brewer and Rosie Mendez. She was approved by the Democratic Screening Panel, the New York Women's Bar Association and Lesbian and Gay Lawyers.
