Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • I have the unigue experience of serving as a Law Clerk for four Lewis County Judges: Charles Merrell, Nathaniel Merrell, John Parker, and J. Robert Lynch. Each of these extraordinary jurists has taught me something about serving on the bench. Judge Lynch was a brilliant scholar of the law, Judge Parker has an extraordinay work ethic, Judge Nathaniel Merrell provd that a sense of humor goes a long way, and Judge Charles Merrell showed that treating everyone fairly in court leads to fair and just results. My career has really been a training program for the opportunity to serve as Lewis County Judge. I have also been deeply involved in the legal world: I teach Town and Village Justice across the State and I teach at the JCC Paralegal program. I have also been deeply involved in our community of Lewis County: I am one of the three founders of Lewis County Hospice, I was Advocate of the Year for our ARC, I coached Little league and AYSO Soccer. I give back to our community because it has been so good to my family and me.
