Personal Statement
  • He was born in Glens Falls, NY and is a graduate of Niagara University. He served in the US Army from 1965 through 1969 and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious achievement in Vietnam. He graduated from Albany Law School in 1972. He served as an Assistant District Attorney in Albany and then a partner in the Albany firm Hinman, Straub. He served as an Assistant US Attorney in Albany and Syracuse from 1982 until 1998, prosecuting major federal crimes. In March 1998 he was appointed by Governor George Pataki as a Supreme Court Justice and was appointed by Governor Pataki to the Appellate Division in Manhattan and in February 2008 was appointed by Governor Elliott Spitzer to the Appellate Division in Albany. he was president of the Albany Law School Alumni Association and has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Albany Law School for 16-years. He has coached numerous youth sports teams. Judge Malone resides in Delmar with his wife Paula and has six grown children.
