Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • Having a strong desire to serve the public, I attended CUNY Law School, a law school dedicated to “Law in the Service of Human Needs”. I thereafter joined the Queens County District Attorney’s Office. As an ADA for more than ten years, I gained valuable experience working in the Domestic Violence Unit, Homicide Investigations Bureau, Appeals Bureau and the Special Victims Bureau where I was called upon to present on the multidisciplinary approach to child abuse investigations. I was then pleased to accept the appointment of the Surrogate of Queens County as his Principal Law Clerk and later as a Court Attorney-Referee in the Surrogate’s Court. Each of these positions has uniquely prepared me for the judiciary. I proudly serve on the Board of Directors of JALBCA - Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert, as an officer of the Queens County Women’s Bar Association and the Columbian Lawyers Association, as a member of the Queens County Bar Association and the Catholic Lawyers Guild. I am pleased to have been found qualified for the position I seek by the IJEQC and the Joint Minority Bar Association, and that I have been approved by LeGaL - The LGTB Bar Association of Greater New York.
