Personal Statement
  • I have always been someone who cares deeply about the law, my family and my community. By serving as a Principal Law Clerk in Nassau County Supreme Court, and practicing as a litigator in all courts of this State, I am well qualified to continue my public service as a County Court Judge. After graduating from St. John’s University School of Law, I began my legal career building extensive criminal trial experience with the Legal Aid Society. I then practiced in a general litigation law firm where I gained broad civil experience. A lifelong resident of Long Island, I am an active member of my community. I am a Trustee of the Bayville Free Library, a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, and the Jewish Lawyers Association of Nassau County. I was found "well qualified" by the Nassau County Bar Association.The Police Benevolent Association, the Superior Officers Association, the Court Officers Benevolent Association of Nassau County, the Correction Officers Benevolent Association, the Nassau Detectives’ Association, the Civil Service Employees Association, and the Nassau Suffolk Building Trades Council have endorsed my candidacy.

Gutierrez January 1995 – March 2008 Performed all tasks related to the management of cases in a general criminal and civil litigation practice including drafting of and responding to various pleadings and motions in criminal, negligence, matrimonial, federal civil rights, employment discrimination, property damage and medical malpractice cases; drafting and responding to interrogatories and document production requests; preparation for and taking depositions; conducting hearings and trials in criminal cases; conducting legal research; administering estates and guardian ad litem matters; any and all organizational duties necessary for trial preparation.
