Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • Family Court occupies a critical place in our judicial system, touching people's lives on a daily basis. Questions of custody and visitation, financial support, and the punishment and treatment of juvenile offenders are all decided in Family Court. Over the last 22 years of practicing law, especially as a Principal Law Clerk to a judge and as a Deputy County Attorney assigned to Family Court, I have developed a unique expertise in Family Law which will provide me a firm foundation on the bench. Also, as a daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother, I have personally developed a practical, sensitive and even-tempered approach to handling the various situations and problems which face the families of Onondaga County, an approach which wll serve me well as a Family Court Judge. I am seeking the office of Family Court Judge because I believe that it is a position in which I may best utilize my talents and skills to make a difference in the lives of Onondaga County families.
