Personal Statement
  • Judge Galasso grew up in the historic town of Oyster Bay, New York. There he attended the local parish school, graduating from St. Dominic High School in 1962. He continued his education at C.W. Post College,earning a B.A. degree in History and Political Science in 1966. Judge Galasso continued his education at St.John's Univ. in 1969, earning his J.D. degree. After his admission to the Bar, Judge Galasso was apprinted Asst. Dist. Attorney for Nassau County.There he did extensive work in the District Court, County Court, and Organized Crime Bureau. Judge Galasso opened a private practice in 1979, and his practice led him to work in all the courts in the metropolitan area. He won commendations for his work from the Nassau County Assigned Counsel Defender Plan, and from Martindale Hubble. In 1991, Judge Galasso was appointed to the District Court. In 1997, he was elected to the Nassau County Court, where he still serves. He is also Acting Justice of the New York State Supreme Court. Judge Galasso's career has been marked by many high profile cases, and his decisions have been published in law journals and official court reports.
