Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • My 12 years of judicial experience demonstrates I am well qualified to serve as a Supreme Court Justice. As an Acting Supreme Court Justice, I hear Supreme Court cases in Otsego and Delaware counties. And as a multi-bench Judge for Otsego County, I preside over Family Court, Criminal Court, Surrogate’s Court and Drug Treatment Court. This combination of responsibilities adds up to incomparable experience from a diverse caseload, including complex litigation, serious criminal issues, and sensitive family court matters. In recognition of this diverse experience, I served on two important state-wide judicial review committees - the Matrimonial Commission and the Family Court Advisory and Rules Committee. Also, I train judges in evidence, case management and trial procedure, and instruct attorneys to serve as law guardians. In the past decade, I have embraced all possible opportunities to enhance my learning, increase my skills, and broaden my knowledge of the law. I am well-qualified, experienced on the job, impartial, and committed to studying and applying the law for fair and just results.
