Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • I have been active in the legal system for 30 years as an attorney, counsel to NYS Senator Norman Levy and, for the last 10 yrs, as N. C. Family Court Judge. During my tenure on the bench, I have worked hard to bring support, understanding & justice to the families that have appeared before me--judging with compassion and an understanding of the problems facing these families in crisis. I currently hear 50 % of PINS & Juvenile Delinquency cases brought within N. C. and have developed expertise in this most important area of Family Law. Active in my professional community, I am a member of the NYS & N. C. Bar Assoc.; Vice Chair of its Family Law Committee; member N.C. Women's Bar Assoc.; Pres. Jewish Lawyers of N. C. & frequent CLE lecturer for Nassau Academy of Law, NYS & Nassau Bar Assoc., National Business Institute & National Institute for Trial Advocacy, as well as many universities, colleges and high schools. A life-long Nassau resident, I have been married for 40 yrs & am the father of 3 & grandfather to 2. As a result of my professional efforts in & out of the courtroom, I was most appreciative to receive the N.C. Bar Assoc.'s highest rating of "Well Qualified."
