Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • Kevin Crowley was born in New York City and grew up in Huntington. Kevin graduated from law school during the Vietnam War and was draft classified “1A”. He enlisted in the US Army and served four years as an Army “JAG” lawyer including one year in the 23rd Infantry Division in Vietnam, providing legal assistance to American soldiers in combat. He received the Bronze Star Medal at Chu Lai Returning home, he became a Suffolk County ADA prosecuting criminal cases at every level of New York courts including the Court of Appeals in Albany, for five years. In 1978, Kevin became Law Assistant to Supreme Court Justice John P. Cohalan of the Appellate Division, second highest court in NY State. When Justice Cohalan retired, Kevin Crowley was appointed Law Assistant to County Court Judge Al Tisch, helping him to handle many felony hearings and trials, for six years. In 1989, Kevin ran for District Court Judge, winning the Republican Primary and the General Election. In 1995 and 2001, Judge Crowley was re-elected. Kevin Crowley is responsible for handling more than 3,000 misdemeanor and violation cases from start to finish at the trial level every year.
