Candidate Biography
Personal Statement
  • I have extensive courtroom experience as a former Assistant District Attorney where I worked in the District Court, Grand Jury, Family Crime and East End Bureau's. Thereafter, I worked in private practice for 14 years, handling civil and criminal litigation and representing children in Family Court Abuse and Neglect proceedings. In 2002, I returned to public service when I accepted appointment as Court Attorney-Referee in the Supreme Court Integrated Domestic Violence Part. In 2004, I transferred to Family Court, where I decide Child Custody, Paternity and Family Offense proceedings. I am running for Judicial Office because I believe we need to equate strong justice with adherence to the highest ethical standards and standards of legal scholarship and an unwavering daily commitment to impartially and fairly deciding cases. I am a cum laude graduate of SUNY Stony Brook, and studied at the University of San Diego Institute on International and Comparative Law in Dublin, Ireland. I earned a Juris Doctor degree from Western New England College School of Law in Dublin, Ireland in 1984.
