PLEASE BE AWARE: The New York State Court System does not ask citizens for financial information such as credit card, bank account, social security numbers or personal information such as the names and ages of your family members. Do not provide this kind of information to anyone claiming to represent the court system. Please contact this commissioner of juror's office at (518) 625-3190 if you receive this type of call.
All trial jurors are on standby service for a one week term and report to the Greene County Courthouse located at 320 Main Street, Catskill, only when instructed to do so by means of a daily recorded message. The message will refer to you by juror ID number located on the summons. The recording is available 5:00 pm through 9:00 am daily. The jury phone number is 518-625-3190.
Free parking is available in the County Lot off Bridge Street by the Candyman Chocolate Shop or in the Village Municipal Lot off Main Street, across from the Community Theater. Street parking is not recommended as it is metered and limited to two hours.
Should a personal emergency arise, telephone the Commissioner’s Office at 518-444-8790 as soon as possible. The office is staffed Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. If weather conditions warrant court cancellations or postponements, it will be broadcasted over the following radio stations: WCTW (98.5 FM), WZCR (93.5 FM), WRIP (97.9 FM), and WHUC (1230 AM).
There is a magnetometer at the main entrance of the Courthouse which is used to detect weapons and other potentially dangerous instruments. Everyone, including prospective jurors, must pass through the magnetometer before entering court facilities. We recommend leaving items not pertinent to your jury appearance at home or in your vehicle to keep processing time to a minimum. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated in this effort to keep us all safe.
Jurors are responsible for their meals each day of appearance unless deliberating or sequestered. There are several coffee shops, luncheonettes, and restaurants within walking distance of the Courthouse. Staff will be available to direct those unfamiliar with the area. You may bring food from home; refrigerator space is available. Cold beverage and snack vending machines are located in the building. Coffee is available to individuals selected to serve as trial or grand jurors. No food or beverages are allowed in the courtrooms.
Verification of Attendance:
Jurors are required to check in each day of attendance. Verification of attendance will be provided to jurors upon request.
THE FRONT STEPS ARE NO LONGER USED TO GAIN ENTRANCE TO THE COURTHOUSE.
The main entrance to the Courthouse is located at the south end of the building at the corner of Main and Clark Streets. It is handicap accessible. There is handicap parking at the main entrance on Main Street. There is an elevator to all floors. If you have special needs, please call to discuss them with the Commissioner’s staff.
