Personal Statement
  • State Supreme Court Justice Kenneth R. Fisher was appointed by then Governor Pataki on June 5, 1995, confirmed by the Senate June 8, 1995, and elected to a 14 year term by a wide margin in November 1995 on the Republican and Conservative lines. He is seeking re-election for a second 14 year term. Justice Fisher, raised in Penn Yan, and currently of Irondequoit, has been married for 35 years to Susan Phelps Fisher, who teaches Special Education pre-schoolers at CP Rochester (Winton Road Campus). They have three grown children: Emily (27) who is married to Sgt. First Class Bryant Locke stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; William (25) is now attending Western Washington University at Bellingham after four years in the Navy aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72); and Mary (23) who lives in Frisco, Colorado. In 2005, he was appointed by the Chief Administrative Judge to the New York State Commercial Division. In this position, Fisher rapidly expanded the Commercial Division in Monroe County to the entire eight county Seventh Judicial District. He has coordinated a pilot project managing commercial property tax cases involving $1 million or more of assessed value.
